"Amo: volo ut sis" II

$45.00

A one-of-a-kind ceramic cup from the Words to Hold series.

“Amo: volo ut sis,” meaning “I love you, I want you to be,” is a phrase Hannah Arendt returned to in her writing to describe love that seeks neither possession nor control, only the other’s being.

The Words to Hold series gathers language from philosophy, literature, and the zeitgeist that I wanted to give physical form and keep close at hand.

Glazed stoneware.

Approx. 4" H × 3.5" W × 3.5" D
