A one-of-a-kind ceramic cup from the Words to Hold series.
“Average Individual” wraps around the cup, with the A and I picked out in red. The phrase draws from a San Francisco public art project satirizing the AI boom, in which an advertised chatbot “powered by AI*” revealed AI to mean “Average Individual.”
The Words to Hold series gathers language from philosophy, literature, and the zeitgeist that I wanted to give physical form and keep close at hand.
Glazed stoneware.
Approx. 4.1" H × 3.5" W × 3.5" D
